Propaganda Packet For Editors

Dear Future Tundra Fan,

I would like to introduce to you the comic strip Tundra by Chad Carpenter.  Since the spring 2006, we have been covering the United States and Canada in person and by mail to promote Tundra, and it has been extremely well received.

Tundra is an outdoors & nature-themed strip that has been rapidly gaining in popularity and is often called ‘the next Far Side’ by other editors.  In our first two and a half years of self-syndication, we have added over 350 new newspapers making Tundra one of the fastest growing comic strips on the market today.  These include the Los Angeles Times, the Vancouver Sun, the Denver Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Seattle Times, the Pittsburgh Post, the New York Daily News and the Raleigh News & Observer just to name a few.

We were also recently picked up by King Features Syndicate who is handling Tundra worldwide, with the exception of the United States and Canada which we will continue to handle on our own.

Editors tell us all the time that Tundra is the first consistently funny strip they have seen in years.  This section of the Tundra website contains our propaganda packet which includes 24 daily comic strips as well as some Sunday samples so you can decide for yourself.  It also includes a page called ‘Letters From The Editors’ with comments about Tundra from newspaper editors across the United States and Canada. You will also find newspaper articles from the Spokane Spokesman-Review and the Ogden Standard-Examiner in Utah.  The last sheet in the packet is an instruction sheet on how to access the latest batch of comic strips online should you decide to try it.

The strips are also available through Reed-Brennan and CanWest Editorial (daily strips) and American Color and Western Color Print (Sunday strips) for those of you who use pagination companies.

Please feel free to use any of the enclosed strips (also available online) for free for any trial, poll, survey or guest comic spot to get your readers’ reaction.  If you are interested, we generally charge the same rate that you pay for other new strips since most rates are based on circulation and every paper is different.

Please do not hesitate to call or e-mail if you have any questions or need additional information.  Thank you for your time and consideration.
